Treepod

Hiya and Happy Thursday!

Since Andrew and I aren’t traditional in… basically every way, we decided to use our tripod as a Christmas tree. You remember my previous mention of the 5 foot string of lights that we were so stoked on and how woefully inadequate they were, right? Well here is a photo, a before and after if you will.

I’m pretty sure we bellowed with laughter upon inspection of this attempt at lights. It was to hysterical! Angus, however, is cozy as a little bug in his tent. Gotta love that.

Okay, so here is our treepod after we bought some an actual string of lights.

Much better. And, we did include the original 5 foot strand. It just seemed appropriate to include our very first string of lights on our very first treepod. Being married is so fun and full of firsts! We’re pretty pleased with how it turned out, kinda cute!

Today I’ve been sipping out of my deer mug, I found it in a box store with my college roommate and HAD to have it. It’s been one of my favorites since :]

I think coffee might taste better when it’s out of this mug. Just sayin’.

My dad and I are making hunter brownies this evening, they’re a blast from the past when it comes to sweets. We always made them in the fall/winter seasons when I was little and it’s been SO long that we decided that it was high time for another batch! I’ll share photos later and perhaps a recipe?

Happy Afternoon!

The first snow

It feels pretty epic. It’s our first snow at our wee house, married. Snow is one of my favorite things next to Andrew, Autumn, and my Dad. This is my first snow away from my Dad actually. I had a moment, not joking, but it’s healthy I suppose. At least we’re in the same town, and we can send picture texts with coffee and eggs and bacon in them! Yes, my Dad and I totally do that, we’re that cool.

Dulce, our black and white cat, absolutely loves snow. Not even joking. At Mom and Dad’s, my brother and I took him out, after a rather impressive snow, and threw him in a huge drift. He flipped out, shook his paws, looked at us indignantly, and shuffled off inside the house. Later that day he meowed at the door to go out again, and we let him. From then on he loved it! Apparently it had to be on his terms, as so many other things are. So this morning, I have my coffee and he’s looking at me like,”Okay, I know what’s going on. When do I get to go out?” Some things never change. Regardless of where you are.

Angus is till to little to head out and there isn’t enough snow yet for him. Next time. So he delighted himself with a pencil on the floor.

And I have delighted myself with a showing of Robin Hood, cinnamon coffee, and my beloved. I’m hoping for about a foot of snow. It almost never happens but, I keep hoping anyway!

Excitement!

Holy Cuss! We’re so excited! We’re going to see the Punch Brothers tonight at
Pisgah Brewing Co! Leslie and Ryan turned us onto them during one of our weekly hangs at their house. I’ve never been to the Pisgah Brewing Co but, I’m so jazzed about checking out some micro-brews!

In the meantime I have a wee kitten cat that has somehow managed to climb up my shoe and into my pant leg. How is that even possible?

I think… possibly…. Angus is my favorite thing ever. Short of Andrew.

Peace

You know how you get bogged down with life? Well that’s how I’ve been living. I go from 100 miles an hour in the morning to 100 miles an hour in the classroom to 100 miles an hour in the afternoon/evening. It’s silly.

I came home today from an intense day at school to a very quiet house. No one home but the wee animals. It’s refreshing to leave a hectic environment and come home to your space and instantly relax. I have a wee kitten cat mewing (and climbing up the couch) and a finch singing to me outside and bees buzzing by the windows and a sweet breeze to bring the melody. It’s quite a lovely tune when it’s all combined. I’m so thankful for moments like this.

I may even take a little nap!

Big News!

I finally hooked up my sewing machine!! I threaded it and fixed the bobbin all by myself! AND I played with almost all of the stitch settings. I made wee flowers and everything. SO much fun! I even made a birthday card out of felt and the leaf stitch for my cousin Tabi.

We also got our wee Angus! He is the most precious thing in the world. He’s all orange with wee white stripes! We can’t get over him! I love it when they’re new and everything is fresh and different. He’s very intrepid, which makes us really excited… since we are too! He has the sweetest pink nose and it matches his paws! Looooove it! I’ll stop gushing and show you :]

Andrew and I also went 4 wheeling today – we shredded the gnar. [that’s right, A, I said it] I’ll share photos with you later. For now we’re going to play with our wee love!
